The Executive Council of the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA), wishes to announce the appointment of Mrs. Anuradha A. Maharaj, Operations Officer within the CWWA Secretariat.
Mrs. Anuradha Maharaj, has a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Masters of Philosophy in Hydrogeology from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. She also possess a Master of Science in Water Engineering from the UNESCO-IHE, The Netherlands.
Mrs. Maharaj been the recipient of several awards including:
Departmental Award (2009)
UWI Postgraduate Scholarship (2011)
PARCA Scholarship (for MPhil 2013)
Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Fellowship (UNESCO-IHE 2016).
She has worked as a Projects Manager at the Mona Geoinformatics Institute. Mrs. Maharaj later served as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Resources Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES), Barbados.
Anuradha is an advocate for water conservation and protection. Her motivation is believed to have stemmed from personal water related challenges she would have endured during her formative years.
Anuradha’s main research interests are hydrological modelling, integrated water resources management (IWRM) and conducting water availability assessments.
The CWWA Executive Council congratulates Mrs. Maharaj on her appointment and looks forward to her working alongside the Executive Director, Mr. Wayne Williams to contribute to the advancement of the CWWA.
