Abstract:
The Wider Caribbean Region (WCR) consists of the insular and coastal states and overseas territories with coastlines on the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico as well as the adjacent waters of the Atlantic Ocean (UNEP CEP 2020). The WCR is experiencing an increase in the amount and complexity of waste generated, like most other countries of the world, due not only to common factors such as increasing population, urbanisation, and change of consumption patterns.
